2010-2015 User Choice Program

Some of the qualifications at NECT are Government funded under the 2010-2015 User Choice Program and concessions may be available for eligible candidates at the time of enrolment.

What is User Choice?
The User Choice program funds nationally recognised, accredited training and assessment services for apprentices and trainees. Under the User Choice 2010 - 2015 program, funding will specifically target the occupational outcomes of the apprenticeship or traineeship program. Funding priorities are aligned with the skill outcomes required by industry. To read more about User Choice please refer to

Certificate 3 Guarantee

As part of the "Great Skills. Real Opportunities" reform action plan, the Queensland Government will provide eligible Queenslanders with subsidised training in one Certificate III level qualification.

To be eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee you must:

  • not hold or be currently undertaking a certificate III or higher level qualification (this does not include qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training);
  • be 15 years of age or older;
  • be aged 15 years or above, and no longer at school (with the exception of VET in School (VETiS) students
  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Queensland or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland.

Although the majority of the training costs are subsidised by the Queensland Government, there is a sum of essential costs that students will need to contribute towards their training. These are known as 'Co-Contribution fees'.

To obtain more information on the Certificate 3 Guarantee program including qualifications covered, eligibility criteria, Co-Contribution fees and steps to complete the training programs please download the Certificate 3 Guarantee Information Sheet.

To submit an eligibility check request please complete, sign, scan and return the Expression of Interest / Eligibility Form to or fax to (07) 3891 6433.

What other payment options do I have?

If the qualification you are interested in is not covered by User Choice, there may still be Employer Incentives or Benefits to assist you and your employer funding your apprenticeship or traineeship. Your eligibility for these incentives is determined by your local Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC).
